Leather Moulding
The art of breathing life into form.

The process demands finesse, patience, and an understanding of the material’s behaviour. In the atelier, each piece of leather must be carefully cut, prepared, and softened. It is then shaped by hand over a specific mould, following its lines and curves, guided slowly into the anatomy of the form.
Every contour is created by hand, down to the smallest detail. This ensures that the final surface carries an authentic three-dimensional presence --- a vivid, almost lifelike quality that cannot be made by machines. It is achieved only with hands and imagination.

Days and hours pass. The leather remembers the shape.

Once the structure has settled, colour is brushed onto the surface. Using special leather paints, the colour is built up in layers, creating a richness of tone unique to hand-finished materials. The final step is the application of a protective leather finish. This top layer preserves the colour and ensures that the moulded surface maintains its integrity over time. It protects the sculpted areas while allowing the leather to age gracefully --- gaining depth and character.
No two pieces ever look identical, each carries life and personality --- the subtle marks of craftsmanship. This is leather moulding --- not just a technique, but a ritual of shaping, painting, and breathing life into form.
