The Sandstorm collection explores the intersection of masculinity and femininity—particularly the places where their boundaries blur. Its imagined setting is a desert planet within our galaxy. A sandy colour palette allows the clothes to dissolve into the landscape, while scarves, hoods and multiple pockets suggest protection from the threat of sandstorms.
The silhouettes begin with military dress: aviator and bomber jackets, broad, structured shoulders, oversized outerwear and an abundance of pockets. These elements are countered by signs of tenderness and grace—ethereal fabrics, draping, hoods and veiling. Fetishistic references turn the male body into an object of the gaze. The collection draws on Tom of Finland’s military figures and reconsiders proportion in order to reveal the body, as in his illustrations. Outerwear is cropped, closely fitted at the waist and open at the back. Shirts and tops are also cropped, while trousers sit low on the waist, exposing the body beneath.
The male body itself becomes another motif—particularly the back and the V-line below the abdomen—which appear in the garments as moulded leather.
